Germany is located on third place in the world by capacity of wind power stations, which produce 13% of electriс power in the country. In the future, this quantity is planned to be increased to 20%. The cost of a kWh is equal to 0.8 and, unlike Russia, every year, the authorities reduce the rate by two percentage points.
It’s particularly remarkable that the highest wind power station in the world was built in a small town Heudorf a year ago. Of course, it wasn’t done for the record. The height of the wind turbines is of great importance for electric energy generation.
Thе higher construction is, the more resource it’s able to produce. Energy, produced by wind power station in Heudorf, is enough for thousands of houses and the height of this wind turbine is more than 240 meters.
Germany doesn’t spend all the energy produced by wind power engineering on itself. About a third of the electricity is exported to America, Spain, the UK and other countries, including Russia. Moreover, to sell electricity to our Siberia and Leningrad region is more perspective in the opinion of Germans.
The German government allocates money for the electricity generation by wind power stations. The sizeable amount is left on it. Until 2020, thirteen billion euros will be spent on the production of electricity in such manner.
Windpower engineering in Germany has not only supporters but also opponents. Germans who live close to these constructions come out for rallies against this source of energy periodically. In their opinion, wind turbines harm people’s health.
The sounds they make greatly irritate local Germans and affect their mind negatively. What is more, people, close to whose houses a wind power station have built, couldn’t sell their houses for years. They want to move, but they can’t, because nobody wants to buy their property.
Other opponents of wind power stations suggest that the money that the government spends on the maintenance of wind turbines, could be invested in the development of the environment. And this would have a greater effect than attempts to improve the environmental condition of the country at the expense of wind power stations.
Besides, according to this opponents, built wind power stations brings the beauty of the German landscape to nought. As for me, my opinion is different, modern constructions fascinate with their appearance.
