If you’ve never been to the Urals, you should definitely go there to take a look at a huge number of sights of this land and admire the beauties of nature. One of the interesting places, which is worth a visit – the Museum of wooden architecture “Khokhlovka”, situated near the village having the same name in 43 kilometers from Perm.
Construction of the Museum began in 1969 and lasted for 11 years, then was opened for visitors on September 17, 1980. Since then, for almost 40 years, the complex makes visitors glad with interesting exhibits on the picturesque bank of the Kama river.
Visitors can see 23 monuments of wooden architecture of the 17th-20th centuries here. The oldest of them dates from 1694. The bell tower, Kudimov’s house, a watchtower, a barnyard, hunter’s camp, saltworks, a grain barn and many others are among the exhibits.
You may not only view wooden buildings from the outside, but also come inside. In most of the rooms historical interior had been restored. Museum curators in themed garment talk about the purpose of buildings with great pleasure.
A hunter’s house with a corn chandler’s shop may be found in the forest, and the whole salt manufacturing on the bank of the river. The last one was transported here from Solikamsk. It’s incredible that every timber of the complex is saturated with the centuries-old history and energy of those times.
Для комфорта и безопасности посетителей в «Хохловке» недавно провели работы по благоустройству территории. В частности, были укреплены берега реки, проведено уличное освещение.
Works on area improvement had been done recently for comfort and safety of visitors in “Khokhlovka”. In particular, the river banks were strengthened, street lighting was carried out.
A series of interesting events are conducted annually in “Khokhlovka”: Shrovetide, Apple Spas, Trinity Sunday. An international festival of ethnic music KAMWA is also held here, which is included in TOP-5 tourist events of Russia. You can buy ecologically-pure products, workpieces made of clay, dreamhunters, etc. at the fair. Famous russian and foreign designers come to the festival. Besides, interesting workshops are organized for visitors.
